command与order用法辨析

　　1. 两者都可表示“命令”，其区别为：

　　(1) command 属正式用语，通常暗示权力，含有“必须服从”之意，主要用于军事场合。如：

　　Do as I command (you). 照我命令(你的)去做。

　　The officer commanded his men to fire. 军官命令士兵开火。

　　(2) order 属常用词，指一般的上级对下级的命令。如：

　　The chairman ordered silence. 主席要大家安静。

　　The doctor ordered me to (stay in) bed. 医生吩咐我卧床。

　　尽管 order 表示“命令”比 command 常用，但在日常生活中仍显得语气太强，一般会用 tell 代之。

　　He told me not to laugh. 他叫我不要笑。

　　Do what you’re told. 叫你做什么你就做什么。

　　2. 两者表示“命令”，用作动词时，其后的宾语从句通常都用虚拟语气。如：

　　He commanded [ordered] that the soldiers should go to the front. 他命令士兵奔赴前线。

　　3. 注意 command 用作名词时的两类易混结构：

　　(1) in command of 指挥……(带有主动意味)

　　(2) in [at, under] the command of 由……指挥(带有被动意味)

　　General Smith is in command of the army. 史密斯将军指挥这支军队。

　　The army is in [at, under] the command of General Smith. 这支军队由史密斯将军指挥。
